This is one of my hesitation if i am invited to any occasion that i should have to give a present. It is not that i don't want to give a present but i don't know what gift i should give. I must be sure that she will appreciate and use the present. Everytime , i go to mall to choose even only one gift, it takes me a lot of time to choose and decide. Last year i was given an invitation for a 3 wedding ceremony. The invitations inserted a piece of note reminding that the bride and groom prefer a monetary gift than items. I felt shock and intrigue a little. But i understand them. When i got married we received many gifts from invited guest and relatives on my wedding day. Yes we received so many gifts usually varieties of kitchen wares with different brands, sizes, designs and styles. All are appreciated because it is a gift and heartily given. I am sure, i am not the only one who had experienced about some gifts received but just keeping for so many years until you feel suffocated in your house because of accumulated stuffs and not useful anymore. They are sentimental to me but i have to dispose them.

In today's economy I believe in cash money as the perfect gift - it used to seem impersonal but these days most people (especially newlyweds) need it a lot more than fancy cooking tools. (Most young people don't know how to cook anyway! haha)
