PANCIT LOMI GUISADO

My son has no church band rehearsal today , so he stayed in the house the whole day. I think he feel bored and hungry. he's going to kitchen back and forth opening the refregerator but unfortunately only left over adobo was there. He then requested me to cook Pancit Lomi Guisado. That was his favorite when he took his vacation in Batangas (my husband's hometown).
He wanted that i'll cook exactly the same taste as in Batangeño pancit lomi ..
Anyhow, I did it. This is a Pinoy recipe, so it's all the same.

Pancit Lomi Guisado Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp cooking oil
  • 1/2 cup carrots thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup thinly sliced Baguio beans
  • 2 cups cabbage shredded
  • any flavor mix
  • 1/4 cup chopped celery
  • 1 cup water
  • 250 grams lomi noodles blanched
  • 2 whole eggs beaten
Pancit Lomi Guisado Cooking Instructions:
  1. Heat oil, sauté carrots and baguio beans for 3 minutes.
  2. Add cabbage and cook for another 2 minutes.
  3. Stir in any seasoning mix and celery. Pour in water and simmer for 3 minutes.
  4. Toss in lomi and beaten eggs, mix to coat lomi with the sauce and eggs and cook for 5 minutes more.
  5. Serve hot.

Sayang Nay, walang fresh Lomi Noodles dito, nakakatakam tuloy ang recipe ninyo. Yoon ang namimiss ko sa atin, fresh pancit mula sa palengke, lalo na ang chami mula sa Lucena City. *sigh!

I used to go to a restaurant called Ang Sarap in San Jose (California) and I do not think the food ever captured the dining experiences I had in the Phils. I read pages like today whenimbued with gastronomical desire. I have to learn how to cook this stuff.... Or I have to buy a plane ticket....
