Be thrifty and spends money wisely

When i was a a college student , we are always required to wear white long stockings. At least above the knee because it must be suit to our dress uniform. Usually we students always buys the cheapest one although those stockings were very prone from scratching. One thing i can't forget is how when the stockings scratched and pared off we do not throw or discard them immediately. To prevent the run we apply a natural nail polished to the both end of the run and we can use it again and again. That is how we student so resourceful and thrifty we are. As much as possible we don't just throw things , we try to make a remedy to avoid buying new things unnecessarily. Comparing to students now adays, they are so extravagant. They always buys the new one like my children despite of always telling " be thrifty and spends money wisely".
I was already working when i bought the US made nylon stockings which cost 120 peso each . That was year 1980's . That was a big amount at that time but it last long and feels great to my legs when i use it and last long and durable.
