Pistachio

Just today, I am watching the tv news Channel 7. it is reported that BFAD (Bureau of Food and Drug ordered the recall of all pistachio / products with pistachio from USA. because some socks of pistachio are suspected positive with salmonella bacteria. The BFAD officer warn the Filipino people not to eat dairy products, ice cream or cakes with pistachio at these time. The BFAD are still to examine the pistachio and products with pistachio to confirm if they are contaminated with salmonella. I think mother out there don't buy pistachio for your children at this time until the BFAD has a further notice that pistachio is salmonella free.
Pistachio is a nuts smaller than peanut , have a strong flavor enclosed by a hard exterior shell. Me and my kids loves to eat pistachio. My sister always brought for us everytime she come home for vacation from Dubai UAE. I think the pistachios came from Iran and we used to call these nuts as " nakangiting mani " (smiling nuts). According to Wikipedia, more recently pistachio has been cultivated commercially in the English speaking world, in Australia, New Mexico, and most notably in California. The United States Department of Agreculture introduced the tree in California 1904, but it was not promoted as a commercial crop in California
