Worsening Philippine Public School

I have read from a newspaper that the Philippines belongs to the bottom five "poor achievers in Math and Science"conducted by various educational groups. Citing to studies on 45 participants in the science achievements test at the eight grade level or second year high school here in the Philippines.
It is obvious that our teachers nowadays are also going abroad for a greener pasture. We can't blame them. Public school teacher (NCR) are receiving more or less 10,000 pesos and subject for salary deductions, leaving them with a net pay of only around 5,ooo pesos. Compared to what Filipino teachers migrated in the US where they usually start x3 or x4 of their salary here in the Philippines. Other countries, there is a high demand for our teachers. Most of those teachers are brainy and the most qualified teachers who are capable to provide or render better education to children who's parents can not afford to send them in private school.
The depletion of intellectual and technical personnel is the major cause for the deterioration of public school education system. I am sorry to our government to express my opinion again, blaming that they only giving a very low priority in spending on education system for the Filipino children.

Same problem here only our teachers don't migrate but more to the quality of the teachers. The quality of our teachers are going downhill. The younger generation teachers lack of commitment, knowledge and passion when compare to the teachers during my school days.

i red somewhere that DepED is getting the least budget from the government. no wonder why we are now experiencing "brain drain." pity the next generation.

I'm sad to hear about this. Nakakahinayang kasi we have really good teachers kaya lang our goverment don't know how to treasure them. Our goverment should do something about it or baka before we knew it nasa bottom na talaga tayo.

that is really disheartening nay pero that is so true. my highschool teachers in a science highschool have opted to go to usa or canada to seek greener pastures too. our country could not really support them.

sorry for not visiting sooner, i am still in my vacation in boracay and it is partly raining here so i got a chance to do some blogging. be back browsing in a jiffy. have a nice day.

sad indeed. my mother was a public school teacher and all of us were products of the same system. we were about 40 in eaach class, heard there are more students now per class due to the lack of classrooms. teachers also now seek work abroad :(

I remember when I was stilll working in Divine Word College in Legazpi, a lot of our instructors there are now abroad because of salary factor.
